Editorial standards

Every production fact on this site cites a source, and the source is shown to you. The build fails if a weapon version or a patch change has no source recorded — this is enforced by the data validator, not by good intentions.

Articles require two separate flags: published status and human review. Automation cannot set the second one. A patch stays out of the public site until a person has approved it — there are patches recorded in this dataset right now that you cannot see for exactly that reason.

The same applies to data. Automated ingestion can prepare a candidate release; it cannot approve or activate one. Activation requires a named human actor.

If a value has not been published, we show it as unverified. We do not estimate, do not carry a value forward from a previous patch and call it current, and do not substitute zero or 1.0 for a missing figure. A test fixture never appears on a public page.

We have no telemetry. Every ranking is marked Editor-ratedand written with its reasoning shown. We do not use the words “most used”, “highest win rate” or “pick rate” about our own judgement, and the validator rejects any ranking classified as anything other than editorial inference.

Analysis published by the desk rather than a named individual is bylined Killstreaks Editorial. We do not invent personal names, photographs or biographies to make a page look more authoritative. When named editors join, they appear on the authors page with their actual areas of expertise.

When we get something wrong, we fix it, date it, and list it on the corrections page as well as on the page it affects. We do not silently edit a claim away.

Advertising funds the research and has no influence on what is recorded, how it is classified, or how anything is ranked. Ads never sit beside a tool control, inside a control group, or over a result. See the advertising disclosure.

No statistics, descriptions, rankings, loadouts, measurements, tables, analysis, images or page structures are taken from other Call of Duty sites. Where a fact is only available through secondary reporting, it is labelled as such and the primary source is checked where one exists.

Coverage is disclosed on every entity page. Where the official source contradicts itself, we record what was published, flag the conflict, and lower our confidence — see the two live examples on the methodology page.
